Let’s Play Catch Up

Good freaking morning everyone. How have you been? I’m hoping good, because I know times are tough (still, six months later). I wanted to catch up with everyone and just get back into things. I’ve been MIA and I don’t like it. I miss you all so much. Alright, let’s get caught up and get down to business.

As you can tell, I’ve been having a lot of trouble finding things to write about. Anxieties have been high, and motivation has been low. Honestly… my motivation has been shit the last few months (hasn’t everyones’?). It’s hard being a lifestyle blogger when the only lifestyle you’ve had the last six months has been going to work and living an at-home life like the rest of the world. There’s only so much quarantine content one can write about, and I don’t want to keep writing about it. I’m also feeling more tired than usual, which I think has to do with how intense work has been throughout all of Covid. Here are some quick life updates:

+ I’m happy to share that although these have been some shitty times, I did manage to land my dream job! I’ll be sharing a post later this week that elaborates a little more on that, but I’m so excited to share with you that I’m finally going to be a pediatric nurse! Time to save kiddie lives.

+ I have a month off of work (only two and a half weeks left…it’s flying by), and I can’t wait to just feel some sort of normalcy again. I’m hoping that I find some inspiration and motivation during my time off.

+ I went on a mini vacation to Marco Island, Fl. with my boyfriend. It was nice to get away for a couple days and just enjoy the beautiful beach and each other’s company. We had yummy breakfast dates (our favorite) and relaxed a lot.

+ I’ve grown to love working out at home. I’ve been doing Sami Clarke’s IG workouts along with cardio (walking/running around my neighborhood) and I’m so happy with my results. I feel great and I’m feeling really confident).

+ I bought a (trendy) purse, because why not.

Those are just a few life-updates of mine that I can think of from the top of my head. If you keep up with me on Instagram (lol who do I think I am, a Kardashian?), you can see more of my day to day life, including foods I eat and products I’m loving. Thankfully, my family and I have stayed healthy throughout the whole Pandemic, which is so important to me. I’m so grateful that I’ve been able to help those who have been affected while being able to stay as healthy as I can. I know it hasn’t been the same scenario for everyone, so my thoughts and prayers continue to go out to everyone who has lost loved ones during this terrible crisis.

2020 has definitely been an interesting, rough, and high-stress year (to say the least). I know everyone’s anxiety has heightened in the last few months, so don’t forget to take care of yourself and your mental space. Take a moment each day to decide how you’re going to tackle it. Don’t let your moods consume you and drag you into a dark hole. Those holes are hard to get out of once you’re in them. I know it’s impossible to avoid feeling down sometimes, but I’ve found that it helps when you channel your stress into something like exercising or mediating (I suck at meditating- it’s something I want to get better at). Sometimes we need other people’s support in order to get back into our groove. I’m a big believer in positivity attracting more positivity, so try to manifest all the good that you deserve. I know it’s hard to sometimes, and some days feel like pure crap, but we have to keep on doing our best. Keep on keepin’ on, guys.

And as always, don’t forget to tell the people you love that you love them. Tell them, show them, and make sure they know it more often than not. Life is too short, and I think we’ve all learned that this year. Spread kindness and goodness. 2020 has brought a lot of heartbreak, and there should never be an “I love you” left unsaid.

Stay tuned later this week for a couple of posts. I’ll be sharing why I became a nurse and how I landed my dream nursing job!

Much love from your favorite unmotivated, soon-to-be-motivated blogger,

Nicki G.
