If you have any connection to the internet, you’ve probably heard/seen that the Jonas Brothers have reunited. And if you haven’t, get with the program. This is my 11-year-old self’s dream. My inner middle-schooler is thriving and I am so here for it. If you don’t know, I was a die-hard Jonas Brothers fan as a middle schooler. I still am as a 23 year old. This reunion has made me so happy and emotional in words that I can’t even describe. Our favorite brothers are back & their purity rings are gone. Hallelujah.
I guess my love for the Jonas Brothers started when I first heard Year 3000 and Kids of the Future- and saw Nick’s curly hair, of course. That’s definitely what got me hooked. After that, I was a total Jonas Brothers fan girl. My YouTube username was something along the lines of “JoeBroLover123“, if that tells you anything (yes, I’ve tried to find that account to make fun of videos I uploaded as a middle-schooler, no I cannot find it).
I was lucky enough to go to their concert in 2009 when they came to a city just about an hour and a half away from where I lived, and this only deepened my infatuation with Nick (side-note: this was my first concert, thanks Dad!). I knew every word to every song, and I literally cried like the biggest dork when Nick sang his solo song A Little Bit Longer, which is about his struggle with Type 1 diabetes. It was touching, seriously. I’m not a loser.
If you know me, you know I’ve always had the biggest crush on Nick Jonas. Since the afro-days. I’m not even embarrassed to admit it. I love Nick Jonas. Am I hurt that he got married? Absolutely. Did I have a strange fantasy of somehow meeting him and us falling in love and me being his bride at his 18 wedding receptions? 100%. But it’s fine. I’m fine. At least I have his comeback and I can continue fantasizing about what could have been. Nick, if you’re reading this, you’re missing out. I make a mean avocado toast.
They’ve done so much since announcing their comeback about a week ago. They released their single Sucker, did Carpool Karaoke with James Corden (which by the way, made me crush on Nick even more), and did a parody of Year 3000 called Year 2019 on The Late Late Show with James Corden that was absolutely epic. I’m currently fan-girling hard if you haven’t noticed.
Moral of the story: The Jonas Brothers are fucking back ladies and gentleman and they are just as good (if not better) than ever. This was the reunion we didn’t know we needed. Well I knew I needed it, but whatever. I can’t wait for them to release more songs… And if you’re wondering, yes, I will be purchasing concert tickets if/when they go on tour. No questions asked.
P.S. Priyanka is beautiful and I wish them nothing but happiness and a lovely marriage even though it breaks my heart just thinking about it.
P.S.S Listen to my Apple Music playlist I made with my favorite Jonas Brother songs here.
P.S.S.S. Nick & Nicki… doesn’t that have the best ring to it? Ok I’ll stop now.
