Another Month, Another Monday

Happy Monday (and happy Labor Day for that matter)! Unlike most Mondays, today we are blessed with a day off. Hallelujah! I’m spending this lovely American holiday in my favorite place: the library (can you tell I’m being sarcastic?). Also- how cute is that “UGH” mug? Need to purchase it ASAP.

Can you guys believe it’s already September?

Where did the year go? It seems like it was just yesterday that I was waking up in Barcelona, ringing in the new year. The hot (super, hot) summer came and went, and we’re only a few short weeks away from the best time of the year: Fall.

Pumpkin spice is back, cooler weather (not in Miami) is back, and football season is back (#tailgatetime). September is a weird transition month. It isn’t Summer, but it isn’t Fall. It’s just like different times in our life that aren’t clearly labeled. Greenday once said, “Wake me up when September ends,” but to hell with that! Let’s enjoy this new, fresh month and be the best versions of ourselves. Besides, we have a whole month to get our shit together before October, ’cause shit gets serious in October.

These next few weeks are going to be pretty hectic for me.

What’s normally a 14-week semester is condensed into seven weeks, so you can only imagine what my planner looks like for the next couple of weeks. A lot of school, a lot of tests, and even more coffee. If you don’t hear from me for a while, this is why. I’m not dead, I’m just trying to graduate from nursing school. I see the light. It’s so, so close.

I hope everyone has a happy & relaxing Monday- we all need it. And if you have shit to do like I do, rise and shine, grab a coffee, and get to it. The sooner you start the sooner you’ll get it done.

Wish me luck these next few weeks! I wish you all a wonderful month of September. Let go of your grudges and worries and leave your shoulders lightweight and free. May your coffee be hot and your workdays be short (I think I read that on the back of a coffee cup).

Much love, always,

Nicki G.
